The latest interview

SeatingchartYesterday, I got a call from a guy at the Des Moines Register who’s writing a feature story about how to get baseballs at Principal Park, home of the Triple-A Iowa Cubs. (He found me through my web site.) There’s going to be a little blurb about me in there somewhere (and possibly a link to this blog) so he interviewed me for half an hour. I’ve never been to an Iowa Cubs game so I quickly went to their site and pulled up the seating chart. I told him that sections 11 and 12 look like the best place to go for foul balls…and I talked about the strategies I use at major league games. When the piece comes out next month, I’ll share the link.

Right now, I’m downright angry that I can’t attend tonight’s Mets game. I’m not working tonight, but I’m meeting with my writing group. I love the group–don’t get me wrong–but I love Shea Stadium even more, especially when the weather is perfect and two lefties (Glavine & Pettitte) are going at it. I’m cringing at the thought of all the foul balls I’ll be missing.

Hmmm, very tempted to go out there once again and get another 8 tonight, but like I said before, I am not a ball snagger and never will be one. Keep up the excellent work Zackie.

Glad to know we’re loved as much as a stadium :-/

George-
You think you could get eight balls in back-to-back games? Well now, that would truly establish you as an elite ball-snagger.

Linville-

In the winter, you will be my first love. (For those of you who don’t know, Linville is a member of the writing group.)

Zack, you know I am quite confident, but I don’t think I can do anything half-hearted on back-to-back days. I guess thats just me. Well, I can always cherish the memory of an 8 ball day. Elite ball-snagging is your forte buddy, its all you.
George

Okay, Mister Cocky. That’s fine. Say what you want. After all, it’s been a long time since I got eight autographs in one day, which of course is YOUR forte.
