The Matsui/Jeter ball

In my entry from June 16th, I talked about a ball I caught—a Hideki Matsui home run during batting practice at Yankee Stadium—with an unusual imprint from a bat.
The next day, my friend George inspected the ball and, using a bright light and a mirror and his encyclopedic knowledge of autographs, declared with 95% certainty that the imprinted signature is Derek Jeter’s.

Yesterday, a gentleman named Gabriel with a hilarious blog called “Da Bronx Bombers” did some amazing work and confirmed that the signature does indeed belong to Jeter. Read his entry from June 18th to find out how…and watch the video.

If Martha Stewart had Gabriel, she never woulda gone to the pen. (and I ain’t talkin’ casa de Mo.)

For a Yankee fan, Gabriel is one amazing dude. Great work Gabriel despite him being such a Yankees fan and I the complete opposite, his blog is one of the funniest out there. My favorite bloggers helping each other out. Way to go guys. Teamwork, what a concept.

Cute, jeets.

George, I never thought you’d compliment anything Yankee-related. This is truly an historic day.
