Zack,

Congrats on another great year. One small problem…the link for the grand slam video doesn’t go to the video of the grand slam.

HOWIE

it works now.how did you not catch on fly? next season go to 30 spring training games.and over 100 regular.break all obligations. baseball is life, 60 games is weak. runaway from home…maybe you can catch me i have 3 slams .

I’ve been having this debate with my dad for a while. Is it catching a ball “on the fly” or “on a fly?” I noticed you used both phrases in this post and was wondering what the general consensus is.

I think you missed including an interesting stat: ___ balls given away to little kids with empty gloves.

Wow… stepping back and looking at the big picture, it has been a good year. except for a mets fan, like me. Thats a different story.

One more comment…in response to CHASICLE. In my book, each hit ball has only one “fly” then its on “a” bounce, etc. So, my position is “the” fly.

HOWIE-
Thanks! I just fixed the link, so give it another shot and let me know if it works.

TCSNAGGERSD-
Blah blah. I didn’t catch it on the fly because it was hit a full section to my right, and I had to climb over a row of seats (like, from row 5 into row 6) while the ball was in mid-air, and then it landed three rows behind me before I even reached the end of the row. I was lucky just to grab it off the ground.

CHASICLE-
Oops…yeah, sometimes I switch back and forth between the two phrases without realizing it. I hear both all the time, but Todd’s comment below makes sense. From now on, I’m gonna try to say on THE fly.

TODD-
Good point about fly vs. bounce, and interesting stat suggestion. Maybe next year I’ll keep better track.

KRIMSTEINMILO-
Thanks.

Good to hear guys. That was my position- “on THE fly.” I doubt my dad really cares what you guys or I think, but I’m glad I have some support.

JEEZ that’s a lot of stats!! I was at the game where you caught the grand slam ball
